How do I identify which bamboo are running and which are clumping?

Clumpers have the genus name: Bambusa, Chusquea, Denrocalamus, Drepanostachyum, Fargesia, Himalayacalamus, Otatea, Thamnocalamus, Thyrostachys, or Yushania.

Runners have the genus name: Arundinaria, Chimonobambusa, Phyllostachys, Pleioblastus, Pseudosasa, Sasa, Sasaella, or Semiarundinaria.

How do you pack the bamboo for shipping?

We ship multiple orders of bamboo weekly via UPS

Monday Bamboo Shipment Packing Bamboo

  1. The fullest plants are selected from our nursery and then soil is removed to reduce shipping weight.
  2. Remaining soil and rootball are wrapped in plastic to hold in moisture.
  3. Plants are then gently packed into boxes with paper and a bamboo poles to prevent movement during shipping.
  4. Boxes are shipped the same day they were packed to insure a healthy arrival to your door.
